First of all, f*ck all you a**holes who just had to badmouth this station on this forum. Yeah, you've got a right to an opinion and the right to express it, but you're all still a**holes. Anyways, I just wanted to say that I am sick to my stomach right now...I almost puked when I realized that the mighty rock would be no more. I tried finding another station last night and they all just f*cking SUCK. They play the same ten lame f*cking songs over and over again. Politics sucks. Greed sucks. Corporations suck. Are there that many lame *** retards out there that we cool people can't even have ONE f*ckin' radio station? Sh*t, there's 100 country stations, 200 lite rock stations, too many R&B/rap/sh*t stations...Where will I hear Metallica? Pantera? Tool? Korn?????

There was no doubt this was going to happen, this is what happens when the corporatons control the entertainment industry. The fans don't matter, the profit and bottom line matter. Not that the Rock was that great. It played the same songs day after day like al those other rock stations in Chicago. It's a shame that Rebel Radio only plays at night. But it looks like Rock is dead in Chicago. But there is still hope. If one can aquire a shortwave radio, there are good rock stations that can be picked up from Rockford. Of course that doesn't help those of us stuck in our cars in rush hour, impatiently pushing the seek button on our radios looking for a decent song. I might as well take my car radio out and throw it away...... Take up whistling or something..

Ok, time's running out. We need to do something if we want to save the Rock. One of the things we can try is to raise money to help the RockJocks buy their own station. Sure, it takes alot of money, but there are 236,000 of us. Anyone who is willing to contribute to the cause, please email me. Every little bit can help. **** THE MAN! SAVE THE ROCK!

I agree, what is with all you people cursing them and sh*t. What the hell is wrong with you people? If you hate rock so much, why do you listen to it? Do you Have That much free time to just sit around like a bunch of drunken jack @sses and send anonymous letters on the Rock Forum?! And it's bad enough you send them, but ANONYMOUS? Are you guys like P*SSY's or something?!
Anyway, Jo, Freak, Sludge, Eddie, Chris and all of you guys, what can I say? I love you all. You were all great, and I don't see any legitamate reason why Chancellor had to close you guys. It's the money right? That just makes me sick.
Anyways, I wish all you guys at the Mighty Rock good luck, and we hope to see you in the future...

What the phuck!? They can't be serious! Is this a joke? If we loose the rock, I am never listening to FM radio again! (Well, that's a stretch) but ****it, I'm pissed off! Chancellor media group is a bunch of cooperate pricks. I did not care for Mancow, nor did I listen to him very often, but I appears that he was right about the management. And we won't even begin to discuss the Bob & Tom show. We should have known the minuet that those two idiots were put on the radio that it was all going to hell! Oh well, phuck it, I guess I'll just have to break down and get a CD player in my car. God bless the DJ's, I wish them the best in their new endeavors.

Well, it looks like it's bend over time for radio listeners once again. VVX went away, and became the Blaze, which wasn't quite suited to my taste.
When 103.5 became the Rock, I was glad that there was a radio station capable of enough eclecticism that it would play older and more recent hard rock.
Oh well.. There was a long time that I didn't listen to the radio, and I can do it again. Good luck to the DJ's, and I'll pay enough attention to see if you folks show up somewhere else, with management capable of keeping their heads out their accountant's ***es long enough to know not to break up a winning team.

This message is directed towards the corporate division responsible for the demise of the greatest rock station to ever exist.
I have been a loyal listener of the Rock 103.5 for a LONG time and I would like to know why is the Rock going off the air??? The Rock is by far the best station in Chicago and now you guys are killing rock in Chicago. I believe that all of us deserve a **** good explanation for these actions. Regardless, I am behind the DJ's all the way, Chris, Freak, Eddie, Sludge, Julio, Taz, Jo and everyone else. They are people who know what the public wants. That's what made the Rock different from every other station in Chicago. And now, with a 24-hour notice, you people are abandoning your listeners, people who have been behind you
guys from the start. And now you're switching the format to R&B? What kind of sick people are you? Do you even listen to the radio? There are too many R&B stations the way it is and now we're losing our only REAL rock station for another R&B station? Have you no
souls, or just don't know what a majority of your listeners really want? You guys should really get in touch with public relations. Who really
needs another station like B96? There are no other modern rock stations in Chicago. The only thing close is Q101, and there is no way in hell
any of us rockers will switch over to that ****. If this is a money issue, something to fatten your wallets, you people make me sick. People who will screw there own followers for some extra coin. But I forgot, this is America. The Land of the Corporations where everything revolves around the all-mighty dollar. I believe that most everyone would agree with me on this one.

i think the problem is this. the music we love is on the rock. the music we love is music that is not generally widespread. it's more of a specialty music. lately the rock has been further into this medium, proving that 230000+ listeners love it this way. there is an audience for this music. we just need a radio station with execs that care about the people and want to provide what our group wants.

I agree with Tom. My life practically revolves around the Rock. I'm sure many lives revolve around it. And now, they are leaving us. And for what, some extra money? I love all of the RockJocks. They are people that we can identify with. I haven't been this depressed in years. What will all of us do? I'm going on a cd-only basis from this point forward unless the Rock emerges once again. I hope that the god**** will reconsider their decision.

Ok... tell me if this quote makes any sense to any of you. I got it from this mornings Sun-Times. This is Fowlers "REASON" for dropping the Rock:
``We had a hell of a great run with Rock 103.5,' Fowler said. ``In four years, we won 43 national awards in the rock arena--more than any station ever has. We had a great station. But it is a very crowded market in rock.'
Pay close attention to that last line. Okay, if the market in rock is so god**** crowded, where in the HELL are the other rock stations? This is such BULL****. Fowler, what a joke.

First off, bad move for letting Mancow go. Second, taking the Rock off the air is the worst possible move that could be made! You have one of the most unique formats in Chicago, and changing formats will drive that station into the ground.
To ALL of the DJs, thanks for the great music, and the good times! I will miss you all, and hope that you land on your feet again in Chicago! I will be checking to find out where you are!
Of cource there is an upside to all of this.. What a format change will do is drive the price of the station down, and then somebody with some common sense will purchace it, and restore it to it's old glory!
BTW, I removed all of the Rock 103.5 stickers from my 2 vehicles, and shed a tear while doing so....
My Rant is over..... Goodbye friend....I, and all of Chicago, will mourn your passing.

YOU MORONS SHOULD HAVE NEVER GOT RID OF MANCOW!! ENJOY THE FORMAT CHANGE. YOU GUYS SUCK! AND JO ROBINSON YOU SL*T, THANKS FOR HELPING THE FORMAT CHANGE PRESS FOWARD BY PLAYINF RUSH! HAHAHHAAHAA
October 28, 1998 BY ROBERT FEDER SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST WRCX fails to capture rival's `Heart and Soul' On the eve of a long-awaited format change at WRCX-FM (103.5), bosses of the Chancellor Media Corp. station quietly tried to engineer a swap with WXXY/WYXX-FM (103.1), the ``Heart and Soul' R&B oldies outlet. Sources confirmed Tuesday that Jim deCastro, radio chief of Chancellor Media, proposed a transfer of music format, call letters and other ***ets with Mike Kakoyiannis, chief executive officer of Big City Radio, parent company of WXXY-WYXX. The deal would have given Chancellor Media exclusive rights to the ``Heart and Soul' name and format that Big City has been using here since February. Big City, in turn, would have taken over WRCX's active rock format and music library. But Kakoyiannis rejected the deal, sources said, even though it may mean battling Chancellor Media in the same format. Ever since "The Rock" took over "The Blaze," the ratings for the music have sucked. Sure, "The Rock" had good ratings because they had an extremely popular morning show. But when the morning guy gets a 4+ rating and the entire station gets a 3 rating, that tells you something. "The Blaze" always scored a consistent 3 rating without a powerful morning guy. Why? CAUSE THE MUSIC KICKED ***!!! The day "the Rock" died was when they stopped playing the Crue, Jackyl, Slaughter, Cooper, Bon Jovi for ***** whining losers like STP and Nirvana. Eddie Webb's "4-oclock thrashback" was the only good thing left on the Rock. Someone bring back real rock about sex, drugs and rock n' roll. **** grunge.

I hate goodbyes, I've spent all my high school years listening to you guys, I've been to the shows I've entered (and won occasionly) the contests. Now what am I supposed to do? There isn't a single radio station that deserves to even compete with you. I almost cradhed my car when I heard today that the station is gone. The only thing fitting that I've seen so far is that, unless I'm wrong, Metallica at the Aragon is that last show to be put on by the station. There is nothing I can say or do to help the Rock, I can only wait until someone with sense starts another real rock station and hopefully be there, at the Metallica show to celebrate the real passing of the Rock's reign. I wish all the DJ's the best of luck in whatever their pursuits lead them to. I will mish you all and I await your hopefully return, Somehoww, Somewhere, Someway.

It is indeed a sad day in Chicago. The Rock is no longer, and we, the fans, are screwed. I gotta say, it was fun while it lasted. I will miss the Rock, but most of all, I'll miss Sludge and the Freak. Sludge, now known as Brian, you were there for the fans for more than two years. I remember when you worked 2 to 5:30 a.m. weekdays. You gave us late-nighters exactly what we wanted, and that's more than I can say for all the QUEER101 pussies. Freak, you had the greatest hard-core rock show on the radio Saturdays [cool to see ya at Judas Priest, by the way]. Please don't sell out and go back to the Cow. He doesn't respect you, or anybody for that matter. He doesn't deserve to have you on his show; you're way too cool for him. To Sludge, I say the same thing that I said two years ago: keep the faith. The Rock lives on...in my pants. Peace out.

Where did the Rock go? What happened to promises of no format change when Mancow left? What about fans like me that have been there since the Blaze years? I have never listened to a radio station as much as the Rock, and I have never heard a better one, but in these last few hours, I become more and more depressed when I realize that these are the last few hours, and that the rock will be no more. What am I supposed to do now? I had hopes of interning for the Rock, and hopes of someday working for them, but that can never be! My best friend, Ryan Shane, had hopes of getting a morning show on The Rock and kicking Mancow out to the curb. I guess we should thank the Rock for allowing us to have so much fun, and having some of the greatest concerts known to man. Now that we are losing it, I am sure we wish we had appreciated it a whole lot more! Rockstock '97 was the greatest!! The rock needs to be thanked for forgetting the people who have listened for all this time and dropping us like flies! Oldies and Chicago don't mix, but sadly, that mistake won't be realized until it is too late! Say goodbye!

BY ROBERT FEDER SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST Mancow Muller's ratings juggernaut rolls on. AccuRatings figures released this week show WKQX-FM (101.1) moving up from eighth place in mornings with a 3.8 percent audience share in spring to fourth place with a 6.5 share. Muller signed on as morning host at Q-101 at the end of July--one month into the summer ratings period. Muller's former station, WRCX-FM (103.5), dropped from fifth with a 5.6 share to 17th with a 2.1. Muller was replaced by the syndicated morning duo of Bob Kevoian and Tom Griswold. Even more dramatic was the shift among listeners between the ages of 25 and 54. In that category, Q-101 jumped from 17th place with a 2.7 share to second with a 6.5 share. Rock 103.5 fell from third place with 5.2 share to 24th with a 1.5 share. AccuRatings, based on telephone surveys by Chicago-based Strategic Media Research, are considered a precursor to the more authoritative Arbitron figures. Arbitron will release its summer survey results Oct. 13. The apparent audience erosion at Rock 103.5 can only hasten a format change. For competitors like Chuck Hillier, vice president and general manager of Q-101, it's a foregone conclusion. ``They've already changed formats,' Hillier said. ``I just tuned in and heard a fat lady singing.'

WRCX fails to capture rival's `Heart and Soul' October 28, 1998 BY ROBERT FEDER SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST On the eve of a long-awaited format change at WRCX-FM (103.5), bosses of the Chancellor Media Corp. station quietly tried to engineer a swap with WXXY/WYXX-FM (103.1), the ``Heart and Soul' R&B oldies outlet. Big City's plans for WXXY/WYXX include a boost in signal power, effective in December. Robert Murphy has signed to join the station as morning host in January. Talks also are under way to hire another radio veteran, Fred Winston, as afternoon host. At the same time, Big City is poised to launch a rock format on its two other suburban simulcast outlets, WCBR/WBRO-FM (92.7) early next month. While Mike Fowler, vice president and general manager of WRCX, was not available Tuesday, he previously has denied imminent plans to change format. Nevertheless, all signs point to a switch sooner rather than later. DeCastro's proposal to Big City was not unprecedented. As chief of Evergreen Media Corp., he sought a similar arrangement with the owners of WSCR-AM (1160) in 1993. When the Score's bosses rejected the seven-figure offer for their format, talent and call letters, deCastro took on the Score with a competing sports talk format on WMVP-AM (1000). In the latest Arbitron quarterly survey, WRCX tied for 19th place with a 2.0 share and cumulative weekly audience of 236,000. WXXY tied for 33rd with 0.4/104,000.

King's X did not break up (as reported by one of your dj's when Doug Pinnick put out his solo album) and their new album is the incredible!! This band should be bigger than anything that is played on radio today, but for some reason, they are not. So START PLAYING THEIR STUFF GOD **** IT!!!!!!!! Stop playing the same **** over and over again and play something different for a change. Leave the lame, overplayed alternative stuff that is echoing all over every radio station in chicago and start backing a band that should be selling out at huge places instead of the House of Blues. Since Metallica is coming again, and in honor of the theme "Garage Barrage" I think the Rock should give up the 103rd caller bs in favor of a REAL contest. I think everyone can agree that the biggest Metallica fans should be at the show, so why not do a trivia contest? Ask some good Metallica trivia so the old loyal Metallica fans have a better chance at going to this concert!

So long, and thanks for all the ROCK! I'm going to miss your station, especially your DJ's. I remember listening when the Blaze came on the air, and then when the Rock took over. I moved to Peoria for three years for school, but whenever I came home, I listenend exclusively to the Rock. I don't like Heavy Metal, but I liked your station so much I could tolerate it. Your DJ's and Production team made it great ,and revolutionized Chicago radio forever. To Sludge, Scott Streuber, Julio, Eddie, Wench, Taz, Freak, and everyone else at the Rock (Even Jo,) thanks for everything. I hope we can find out where you guys are going, becasue I'll still listen. The first time I got laid I listened to the Rock, and it's been a staple in my life since. Getting high, getting drunk, and partying down with the best station I've ever known. Good luck to all, and keep in touch with us!

BY ROBERT FEDER RADIO/TV COLUMNIST
In a move expected ever since morning star Mancow Muller jumped to WKQX-FM (101.1) last July, WRCX-FM (103.5) has thrown in the towel on its rock music format.
Starting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, the station will switch to a ``rhythmic oldies' music format--ranging from Motown to disco--targeted to adults between the ages of 25 and 54. Typical artists will include Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin, Michael Bolton, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye and Earth, Wind and Fire.
``We're confident there is a definite hole for this format,' said Mike Fowler, vice president and general manager of WRCX. ``We've tested and researched this thing to death.'
To kick off the format, Chancellor Media Corp. has budgeted more than $2 million in television advertising and other promotion. A $25,000 prize will be offered in a two-week contest to come up with a name for the station. New call letters will follow.
In an unusual cross-promotion, WRCX will direct its former rock listeners to switch to WLUP-FM (97.9), which is owned by Bonneville International Corp.
As Chancellor Media ***embles a new air staff for the station, an all-star lineup of jocks from similar stations the company owns in Los Angeles, New York, Dallas and San Francisco will be heard via satellite at the outset.
While the new format is intended to draw listeners from oldies WJMK-FM (104.3) and perhaps contemporary-hit WBBM-FM (96.3), Fowler said he doesn't expect to cannibalize the core audiences of Chancellor Media's urban-contemporary WGCI-FM (107.5), adult-urban WVAZ-FM (102.7) or adult-contemporary WLIT-FM (93.9).
Gone from WRCX will be program director Dave Richards and eight full-time and part-time disc jockeys.
``We had a hell of a great run with Rock 103.5,' Fowler said. ``In four years, we won 43 national awards in the rock arena--more than any station ever has. We had a great station. But it is a very crowded market in rock.'
In the latest Arbitron quarterly survey, WRCX tied for 19th place with a 2.0 share and cumulative weekly audience of 236,000.

OK, HERE'S WHAT I THINK. WHY ON EARTH WOULD THIS HAPPEN? THE ROCK WAS THE BEST RADIO STATION IN THE WORLD FOR THE PAST FOUR YEARS, AND THERE'S NO WAY THEY COULD CHANGE. THIS IS HOPEFULLY ALL A BIG HALLOWEEN PRANK. WHY ELSE WOULD THEY STILL BE DOING THE GARAGE BARAGE, AND BRINGING OFFSPRING TO TOWN? I HOPE THAT IT'S A BUNCH OF B.S. IF IT'S TRUE THOUGH, SOMEBODY SHOOT MANQUEER.

Obviously it isn't going to matter that we are all writing to complain about the new formatting, because the wizards at Chancellor Media Corp will just blow away the website without even thinking twice....BUT...screw them, we're pissed! The jocks are telling us to listen to 97.9, but it is not the same format. Yes, I hear KISS every once in awhile, but it's not the same. Anyone have any other suggestions of what to listen to?
First they took Z-ROCK away in high school, and now this. Hmmmmm....a sneaky form of curtailing that evil, evil rock music (ha ha)? I will miss you guys!!!!

I cannot believe this. I go to Europe to study and when I come back I am not going to have a station to listen to. Thanks a f*cking lot. You guys did it to yourselves. When manqueer sold out you could have found a decent replacement, Neal and Bob just didn´t cut it. Howard Stern would have saved you. For some god awful reason you kept Jo Robinson...horrible absolutely horrible. You overplayed songs (aka Queer 101 style). Great going you corporate f*cks...you think that you are going to get any ratings with ANOTHER r&b station..chicago already has 4.

This was a lousy, lousy thing to do. Even if the Rock wasn't the most popular station, it was among the best (and haven't the suits heard of "niche marketing"?). To all at WRCX: Thanks for giving us such a great ride over the last few years, best wishes in your respective careers, and here's hoping that the suits get stuck at Arby's when the new 103.5 eats hot, flaming death.

Alas, The Rock. Say what you will, but I for one admired this station. The variety rivaled 'XRT's in that they played rock from all ends of its spectrum: from Rush (old & new)to Seven Mary Three, from Foo Fighters to Scorps, and from Manson to Kiss. Yours will be tough shoes to fill.
Alas, The Rock.

Why can't Chicago keep a metal Station? Z-Rock, The Blaze, now ROCK 103.5! By the way, this switch was in the works even when Mancow was there, so he can gloat all he wants (I have internal sources). Now that there is no rock station in Chicago, hello CDs!

Since the very first day the Rock became a part of my life, and the first song played was Def Leppard's "Rock, Rock 'til you Drop" played for three straight days, I have been a totally loyal and worshipping listener. I have never missed one day of Mandatory Metallica, I have never missed a concert announcement, and now you guys are gone forever. **** YOU SGT. HAIRCLUB! And so, in closing, I wish all the DJ's, Sludge, Julio, Jo-Mama, Chris Pain, and the wonderful FREAK, the best of luck and hope to hear you all very soon on another Chicago radio station, one that plays metal. And to Dave Richards, Sgt. Hairclub - SO WHAT, SO WHAT, YOU BORING LITTLE ****! No more Rockstock, no more Mandatory Metallica, no more House of Pain, and yes, I'll even miss the 2 hours of Dee Snyder on Sunday nights with "House of Hair". God bless you all, rest in peace ROCK 103.5.
And for your last song today at 5:00, I agree...you should definitely play the in-cut version of "SO WHAT" by Metallica. What are they going to do, fire you?

This truly is a sad day in the music world. I've listened to the ROCK EVERY DAY since I moved to Chicago 2 years ago!! I'm saddened because we have nowhere else to turn now that the ROCK is leaving. You've all brought so much to Chicago in terms of the music that is overshadowed by the whimsical panzy rock called "alternative". I'm talkin' about METAL!!! METALLICA will continue to dominate Chicago and the spirit of the MIGHTY ROCK will be in us all.

This has be the worst day in Chicago radio in recent years. Losing another rock station (and the ONLY good one in town) to yet another "wear my stupid pants so low I fall on them-gansta beat" punks. I've been with the Rock through it all right after the change from the Blaze. I bought tickets to the concerts, watched DJ's come and go, and just basically enjoyed listening to the station. So, is that all for live rock concerts in Chicago? Will Sabbath have to lower themselves to 97.9? (no offense, but some of their music is TOO old, not enough new stuff for the younger crowd) Will Metallica have to kiss Queer101 and it's 12 year old listeners to get air-time? Speaking of Q101, Mancow (now known as CASHCOW, the sellout) can go to hell. He sold out every principle he ranted about when he was on the Rock. We might have forgiven his taking more money, BUT he had to go and 1)badmouth the rock 2)start kissing the Q101 ***es. Anyone else remember him ripping on that station and their music speak up. Mancow can go blow. The overall quality of the the on-air personalities on the Rock beat all the other losers by a mile. I wish you all the best, and Freak, if you go back to Mancow, we'll forgive you. You need a job and Mancow is a friend(?) of yours so it'd be natural. For the first time in my life, I am going to stop listening to the radio on about 5or5:30 Monday. The music will continue til then, but it will be empty and soulless without the Rock behind it. I guess I'll be using the buzzer on my alarm from now on. Goodbye Rock, another victim of the corporate shuffle. We will not forget you or forgive this.

I know everyone is voting for a Metallica song, however there is a much better choice out there. Mention it on the air, and see if there is a voting change after. "You Can't Kill Rock & Roll" by Ozzy [Diary of a Madman] has to be the last song. It symbolizes all our feeling about the music we all love. Play "So what" second to last, but Ozzy has to be the last song. Plus, Ozzy was there when it ALL started anyway (circa 1969). It can only be fitting to end it all with the man who started it all. We will miss you.

But then I heard Cow was talking about this stuff, and I got this was the topic of a few conversations around...I got paranoid. After Cow left Rock 103.5 the Rock began to suck, but still the best rock station in Chicago. Really...for the love of god! Don't switch!

First Z-Rock, then the Blaze, now Rock 103.5 for what...another station that caters to either blacks or the mexicans. The Loop won't cut it, and CD 94.7 is too much cl***ic rock to satisfy the Heavy Metal freaks like myself (by the way, how can there be so much competition in this market Fowler? No one else here plays Megadeth, Metalica, Pantera or Slayer). Rock 103.5 was the closet thing we had to a station like Milwaukee's LAZER 103 and now their taking it away from us!!!!

Well, I've noticed that everyone is yelling that the Rock is abandoning their fans and all the music you ever listen to is only played on the Rock, so you will never get to hear good music again. Well, if you just realize to listen to (and DJ our dearly departed) the Rock, now that its gone, all you need to do is buy all the Metallica Cd's. You fans had to be expecting this. I mean, I was a Rock fan but when Metallica became every other song, I just got fed up. You should have played more TOOL. If you ever have another radio station, check into that. Also, all you guys are beeaching about how the Rock sold out or is just succumbing to the corporate scum, but in all actuality they probably lost most their sponsors and advertising because none of you self-righteous baastards supported them. I'd be willing to bet the Rock had as many 13- fans as Q101. In fact, most radio listeners under 25 were probably, at one time, Rock listeners, but ever since their "goldmine" found in Metallica was a failure, they vanquished in their own fanocentric filth. And they continued to use it for some reason. Goodbye Rock 103.5, you will be missed, but with this demise, I have learned a great lesson; buy what they're selling. Similar to having to at least CLICK on a sponsor on those porno sites. ANyway, theres always the Loop my children. peace

I am a 37 year-old female and have listened since day 1. We ae being told to turn to the LOOP, but I don't think that they even own a Metallica album. Every time this city gets a decent radio station, they change formats. Let's all make sure that we let the new station know what we think of it. Rock 103.5 was a unique format. There is nothing else like it here in the Chicago area.
PS- I can't get through on the phone lines and would love to take my 16 year old daughter to the Garage Barage. Tickets will sell out tomorrow in a matter of seconds. Any chance of getting tickets for being one of your oldest listeners?

I used to break the rules at my work and listen to the Rock instead of the top forty station we were supposed to listen to, and I blasted it! Now how am I going to rebel? With Queer101? I say we don't let it go without a fight, a riot even! What about promises of Rockstock '99? What about all of the ***urances of no format change? It just goes to show that they are full of ****! **** any of the suits who don't have faith in the only good radio station in Chicago! The d.j.'s are the ones who made it great, and I wish them luck! Maybe they should team up and make their own radio station! I am a listener who has been there since the days of the Blaze, and I am sad to see it go.

Do you people know anything about RATINGS? The Rock's ratings have been falling faster than Clinton's missile when Hillary found out!!! Mancow was holding that station together, and when he left, so did the ratings. The new format will be "Rhythmic Oldies," which isn't the same as R&B, and it sure as hell isn't the same as B96! And BTW, it isn't designed to appeal to Blacks...it's designed to WHITE FOLKS who, unlike you, possess something called an open mind. SO **** YOU ALL! HAHAHAHAHA! A ROCK STATION IS DYING! I LOVE IT!!!!

You people really amaze me. You act like rock is the only "real" music out there. Such typical American rockhead nonsense. The rest of the world has realized that music doesn't necessarily have to be made with guitars in order to be "real", and you know what? Judging by Rock's LOW RATINGS, it looks like Chicago is realizing that too. Face it, rock as a whole is losing popularity. And BTW, heavy metal gets low ratings and low revenues. That's why it's stuck on stations like 94.3.
